Cannabinoids (CBDs) Policy Guidelines

The promotion of CBD (cannabinoids) products must adhere to the policies listed below as well as our Healthcare policies:

 Campaign Requirements:

  1. Promote CBD products that have equal to or less than the approved amount of THC for the targeted geo.

  2. Target the following countries: US, CA, UK, AU, NZ, and DE.

  3. Disclose the ingredients and THC levels of the product being promoted.

  4. Provide sufficient substantiation for any and all health claims in a headline or on a landing page.

Campaigns Cannot:

  1. Promote any CBD product that contains more than the permitted level of THC (typically 0.3%).

  2. Claim to have any medical or health benefit claim (treat, cure, heal, etc.”).

  3. Promote CBD products outside of the approved countries listed above.

Thumbnails and Headlines Cannot:

  1. Contain images of marijuana plants, leaves, buds, or flowers.

  2. Contain images of a person smoking.

  3. Be overly zoomed-in images of drops in the mouth.

  4. The headline may not contain words such as weed, bud, pot, or other similar terms.

  5. Headlines may not make reference to other medications by name such as Oxycontin etc.

What happens if I violate this policy?

  • Ad denial: Ads that don't follow this policy may get denied. A denied ad won't be able to run until the policy violation is fixed and the ad is approved.
  • Domain Disabling / Suspension: We may suspend websites that violate this policy, meaning that the website can no longer be advertised with Revcontent until the problem is fixed.
  • Account Termination: An account may get terminated if you have several violations or a serious violation. If this happens, all ads in the terminated account will stop running, and we may no longer accept advertising from you. Any related accounts may also be terminated and your new accounts may get automatically suspended at setup.
