Weight-Loss Policy Guidelines

Campaign Requirements:

  1. Be promoted through a reputable e-commerce brand, promote a product with proper substantiation, OR promote an eBook.

  2. Disclose on the landing page that weight loss is achieved with a healthy reduced-calorie diet and exercise program.

  3. Disclose the amount of time it took to lose the weight in regards to any testimonials on the landing page (e.g. “I lost 3 pounds in two weeks”).

  4. Disclose the typical results consumers can expect to achieve (Example: “Typical clients/consumers lose 1-2 pounds per week on average”).

  5. Adhere to our Advertorial-Themed LP's policies when applicable.

  6. Any affirmative weight-loss claims on the page (including through testimonials/endorsements/first-person descriptions) without a disclaimer in 8 pt font or 11 pixels, 4:5 contrast ratio, in close proximity to each claim, or with an asterisk reference to each claim, stating, “Paid Endorsement [if applicable]; Results Not Typical; Typically reported results are _________ with diet and exercise.”

Campaigns Cannot:

  1. Claim to cause weight loss of 2 lbs. or more a week for a month or more without dieting or exercise.

  2. Include specific weight loss amounts, e.g., "This woman lost XX lbs in XX days").

  3. Include images of overly obese people.

  4. Use images deemed inappropriate or suggestive (bikini, underwear, etc.).

  5. Showing pinching or squeezing of stomachs or other body parts.

  6. Display images of overly zoomed-in body parts (Example: zoomed-in stomach).
